After a historic win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chennai, our boys, Punjab Kings (PBKS), are ready for the next challenge. We will host Mumbai Indians (MI) for our tenth fixture of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Wednesday, May 3.

We head into our final home game at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

In their latest fixture, Mumbai Indians registered a six-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium.

Double Over MI:

We had an unforgettable time against MI at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium. Our boys produced an impressive all-round performance to win by 13 runs in the high-scoring thriller. Arshdeep Singh’s stump-breaking coup sealed our victory.

After winning four out of five matches, we have a superior head-to-head record against MI in recent meetings. Considering our form, our boys will look to complete a season double over MI.

Solidifying A Spot in Playoffs:

Along with us, as many as five teams, namely, Rajasthan Royals (RR), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), are currently on 10 points from nine matches. The defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT), lead the table with 12 points from eight games.

With one more win, we may reach the top two spots. This way, a double over MI will inch us closer to the TATA IPL 2023 playoffs.

Arshdeep Singh’s Death Bowling Masterclass:

Our bowling spearhead, Arshdeep Singh, was the wrecker-in-chief in the nail-biting finish of the reverse fixture.

The 24-year-old defended 15 runs in the last over to help us register a memorable victory. Arshdeep grabbed eyeballs when his lethal yorkers to dismiss Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera broke the middle stump on both occasions.

Arshdeep has been one of the standout bowlers this season. He is also the highest wicket-taker in our team. He has taken 15 wickets in nine matches at an economy of 8.93.

The left-arm pacer will aim to continue his sensational form against MI at our home den.

Jitesh Sharma’s Consistency:

Our wicketkeeper-batter, Jitesh Sharma, has played a pivotal role in the middle order. The 29-year-old has scored 190 runs in nine matches at an excellent strike rate of 162.39.

While Jitesh has been phenomenal in the death overs, we hope he plays another match-winning knock on Wednesday.

Sher Squad, stay tuned for another enthralling encounter in Mohali.
