There may be just four league stage games to play in the 2020 Dream11 Indian Premier League, but there is still a lot to play for as six teams still have a chance of making it to the playoffs. For Kings XI Punjab, the equation remains simple, win against Chennai Super Kings in their final group game and they would most probably squeeze through owing to a superior net run rate than the chasing pack.

Nevertheless, the team’s star spinner Ravi Bishnoi believes that Kings XI Punjab must win by a big margin to augment their chances of qualifying beyond the group stages for the first time since 2014.

“Basically, this next match is a do or die, so we'll give our 100% and try to win by a big margin, only then can we get to the playoffs. We'll try our best to win by a big margin,” said Ravi Bishnoi in an exclusive interview to Kings XI Punjab.

Four teams- KXIP, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals are currently stuck at 12 points, with one of the latter two guaranteed to finish at 14 as they play each other in their final game. Sunrisers Hyderabad finish their season against already qualified Mumbai Indians, with a win in that game assuring them of a top four finish as they are the only team in the bottom half to have a positive net run rate.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are both on 14 points, and they play each other in their final league game. KXIP have a better net run rate than both these sides, so a win for them on Sunday will see them swap places with the loser of that game between DC and RCB.

“It is very clear for us that we need to win that game, so we need to focus on what our strengths and positives are. The next game is going to be completely different as we play a day game, so important to assess the conditions really quickly and not forget how hard we’ve worked to give ourselves this chance of qualifying,” said KXIP captain KL Rahul, building up to the all important CSK game.
