After a week of exciting cricket action in the TATA IPL 2024, the Shers of Punjab Kings showed some standout performances both with the bat and ball. Here are a few players who are in the running for the title of Sher of the Week.

#1 Sam Curran 63 (47) vs Delhi Capitals

In our home game at Mullanpur, Sam Curran led the charge in chasing the target, guiding us to our first victory in the tournament. A positive start from openers Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow set the tone, and the momentum was continued by Curran alongside Liam Livingstone.

Curran formed a strong 67-run partnership with Livingstone off just 42 balls, carefully selecting which bowlers to target. He was dismissed for a commendable 63 off 47 balls, which marked his best-ever numbers with the bat in IPL.

#2 Liam Livingstone 38* (21) vs Delhi Capitals

Liam Livingstone played a match-winning innings against Delhi Capitals, steering the team to victory with an unbeaten 38 runs off just 21 balls. Coming to the crease with the team needing 72 runs off the last seven overs, he partnered with Sam Curran to kickstart the chase with aggressive strokeplay. Livingstone consistently found the middle of the bat, effortlessly dispatching the bowlers' short deliveries.

While he had displayed this show against Delhi Capitals in the previous season, this time, he ensured his efforts didn't go in vain. With just six runs needed off the last over, he calmly smashed a six over deep mid-wicket, securing victory for the team with ease.

#3 Shikhar Dhawan 45 (37) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru

As we played our first away game at Chinnaswamy, the trend of home team winning continued. Still, Shikhar Dhawan made a significant contribution with the bat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scoring a steady 45 runs from 37 balls. His innings provided a solid start. Dhawan's form with the bat is crucial for us, and he will aim to maintain this momentum in the upcoming matches.

#4 Harpreet Brar 2/13 vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Last but not least, Harpreet Brar emerged as a standout performer for the team in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He conceded only 13 runs in his four overs while managing to dismiss key batters Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell. His deliveries consistently troubled the batters, preventing them from getting underneath the ball comfortably. He bowled economically and mixed in a few deceptive arm balls, ensuring that the opposition struggled to score runs against him.
