Punjab Kings suffered an eight-wicket defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League 2025, held at the New PCA stadium, Chandigarh on Thursday.

Put into bat first, Punjab Kings were dismissed for 101 in 14.1 overs. The batting unit failed to find momentum after a shaky start, losing four wickets inside the first six overs. Marcus Stoinis top-scored with a 17-ball 26, while Prabhsimran Singh added 18 off 10 at the top. Despite brief resistance from Azmatullah Omarzai (18), Punjab struggled against Bengaluru’s disciplined attack.

Despite the setback, the team remains firmly in contention for the title and will aim to bounce back with a stronger showing in Qualifier 2 on 1st June, where they will face the winner of the Eliminator.
