
Punjab Kings secured a place in the top two of the Indian Premier League 2025 standings with a seven-wicket win over Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday.
Set a target of 185, Punjab Kings chased down the total in 18.3 overs, riding on half-centuries from Josh Inglis and Priyansh Arya. Inglis, who was later named Player of the Match, struck 73 off 42 balls, including nine fours and three sixes. Arya added 62 off 35 deliveries in an aggressive opening stand.

The duo shared a 109-run stand for the second wicket before both batters were dismissed in the space of three overs. Shreyas Iyer, the Punjab captain, then guided the chase with an unbeaten 26 off 16 balls, ensuring his team crossed the finish line without further hiccups.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians posted 184 for 7 after being asked to bat. Suryakumar Yadav top-scored with 57 off 39 balls, while Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen picked up two wickets each for Punjab.
With the victory, Punjab moved to the top of the points table and assured themselves of a top-two finish ahead of the playoffs.
