On December 19th, the much-awaited IPL Mini-Auction took place at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai. Many talented players, both Indian and overseas, were sought after by all the teams. Punjab Kings made some significant additions, welcoming 8 new players including 2 overseas players: Chris Woakes and Rilee Rossouw. Our focus this time was more on acquiring talented domestic players to strengthen our squad.

We kicked off the auction by signing Harshal Patel, an experienced and proven IPL player best known for his incredible performance as the highest wicket-taker in the 2021 season. His skills as a death bowler will complement Kagiso Rabada well. Following Patel, we secured Chris Woakes, a seasoned all-rounder who excels with both bat and ball, especially in the early overs of the game.

However, our primary focus was on uncapped Indian players. Tanay Thyagarajann, a consistent performer for Hyderabad in domestic cricket, joined our team. Prince Choudhary, who showcased impressive skills in our selection trials, brings some mystery to our spin department.

Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma are players to watch out for. Singh possesses a well-rounded skill set, while Sharma is known for his exceptional hitting prowess with a strike rate over 195 in T20 matches. Our final overseas addition, Rilee Rossouw from South Africa, brings extensive T20 experience, having scored over 7000 runs in 312 matches, including six centuries.

Our squad: Sam Curran, Harshal Patel, Liam Livingstone, Kagiso Rabada, Shikhar Dhawan, Rilee Rossouw, Jonny Bairstow, Rahul Chahar, Chris Woakes, Arshdeep Singh, Harpreet Brar, Nathan Ellis, Prabhsimran Singh, Rishi Dhawan, Sikandar Raza, Harpreet Singh, Tanay Thyagarajan, Atharva Taide, Ashutosh Sharma, Vidwath Kaverappa, Vishwanath Singh, Shivam Singh, Prince Choudhary, Shashank Singh, Jitesh Sharma

We have the belief that we can bring the trophy home with the roster that we have for IPL 2024.
