Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by four wickets in a high-scoring clash at Chepauk on Wednesday, successfully chasing a target of 190 with one ball to spare and strengthening their position in the playoff race.

Captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front with a composed 72 off 41 balls, well supported by Prabhsimran Singh’s fluent 54 off 36. The pair added 72 runs for the second wicket, laying a solid foundation for Punjab’s chase. Despite a brief stumble in the middle overs, the visitors held their nerve to seal their seventh win in eight matches against Chennai.

Earlier, Chennai posted 190 after being sent in to bat, with Sam Curran providing a crucial late cameo. Yuzvendra Chahal was the standout performer in the first innings, claiming a hat-trick in the 19th over and finishing with figures of 4 for XX, effectively preventing CSK from crossing the 200-run mark.

With this result, Punjab Kings climb to second place on the points table and continue to build strong momentum in their push for the playoffs.
