Ankit Rajpoot was released by KXIP ahead of the 2020 IPL.

Paceman Ankit Rajpoot has been traded to the Rajasthan Royals as the deadline for player retention beckons for the 2020 season of the VIVO Indian Premier League.

Rajpoot came into the Kings XI Punjab set-up in 2018 and played eight matches that year, the most he had featured in during an IPL season. The highlight of the campaign was when he claimed career-best T20 figures of 5/14 against the SunRisers Hyderabad. His victims that day included opposition skipper, Kane Williamson, Shikhar Dhawan, Wriddhiman Saha, Manish Pandey and Mohammad Nabi.

His two-year stay at KXIP yielded 14 wickets in 12 matches and remains as the only uncapped player to have picked up a fifer in the IPL.
