After a blazing start to the season that saw them go unbeaten through their first seven games, the Punjab Kings now find themselves searching for a response following three consecutive defeats. Yet, with 13 points already on the board, the Kings remain firmly in the race as they prepare to take on Delhi Capitals in their first game of the season at the picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. The move to the hills comes at an important phase of the campaign. Dharamshala has traditionally offered pace, bounce and value for strokeplay, conditions that could suit PBKS’ aggressive batting approach and varied pace attack.
Despite the recent results, there have been encouraging signs for the Kings. In their previous outing, young Australian batter Cooper Connolly announced himself in style with a superb century, showcasing composure and fluency under pressure. His innings provided a timely reminder of the depth and firepower within the PBKS batting unit.

The challenge now will be converting strong individual performances into complete team displays. PBKS have repeatedly shown this season that they possess the ability to dominate games with both bat and ball, particularly during their unbeaten run earlier in the tournament. A return to familiar intensity and execution could quickly shift momentum back in their favour.
Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, arrive with plenty to play for themselves, setting up an important clash between two sides eager to strengthen their playoff ambitions.
For PBKS, the Dharamshala leg presents more than just a venue change. It is an opportunity to reset, rediscover rhythm and reignite the momentum that made them one of the standout teams in the opening half of the season.
