Punjab Kings will take plenty of positives despite missing out on a playoff spot in the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League (IPL).

The TATA IPL 2023 witnessed some outstanding performances from our uncapped PBKS players. Here are our standout uncapped Shers this season:

Prabhsimran Singh:

Our dashing opening batter, Prabhsimran Singh, had a breakout season. The 22-year-old accumulated 358 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 150.42. His match-winning ton against Delhi Capitals (DC) will be remembered for a long time. After reaching the incredible milestone, Prabhsimran became just the sixth uncapped player to score a hundred in TATA IPL history. The youngster will aim to continue his scintillating form next season.

Jitesh Sharma:

Our wicketkeeper-batter, Jitesh Sharma, has further enhanced his reputation as a finisher. The Vidarbha-born cricketer was one of our standout performers in the middle order this season. Jitesh amassed 309 runs in 14 matches at an excellent strike rate of 156.06. The swashbuckling right-hander hammered 22 fours and 21 sixes. Apart from being a safe wicket-keeper behind the stumps, his power-hitting capabilities make him a quality asset for any team.

Atharva Taide:

Our talented southpaw, Atharva Taide, is another uncapped Indian who has grabbed attention with his impactful performances. Having made his TATA IPL debut this season, Taide scored 186 runs in seven matches at an average of 26.57 and a strike rate of 144.19. The 23-year-old slammed his maiden TATA IPL fifty against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), before notching up his second half-century against DC. Taide’s addition has only made our top order stronger.

Shahrukh Khan:

Our flamboyant middle order batter, Shahrukh Khan, once again played some match-winning cameos for us this season. The 27-year-old amassed 156 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 165.95. His unbeaten 10-ball 23 was instrumental in helping us register a nail-biting two-wicket win over LSG at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Known for his power-hitting credentials, Shahrukh clobbered 13 fours and nine maximums in TATA IPL 2023.

Harpreet Brar:

Our left-arm spinner, Harpreet Brar, was our standout uncapped Indian bowler this season. Brar produced a game-changing spell against DC in our must-win clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. He previously stole the limelight after he dismissed RCB’s Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell in consecutive deliveries in our home encounter in Mohali. The 27-year-old finished the season with nine wickets at an economy of 8.02.
